Fried Sausage Bread Roll

Today I felt my body and mind is not active as yesterday. Having running nose. It’s make me more lazy.  But my son insisted I to make something to eat for his tea time today.  After a short break, I went to kitchen and saw few slices of bread bought by my husband today morning.  Get idea to make this simple snack. Less than 15 minutes, I serve this snack for my children. As usual he had enjoy with his snack. Ingredients : 5 pieces chicken sausage flavored cheese 5 slices of bread 2 eggs (beaten and add a pinch salt and pepper) Method :- Add sausage  in boiling water until well cooked then drained. Take a piece of bread, remove the edges. knead bread pan right up. Place the sausages on top and a piece of bread . Dip the bread into the egg. Fry dipped bread until lightly browned. Drain on kitchen tissue and it is ready to be served. " Anyone Can Cook "

Sri Lankan Seeni Sambol Buns

Seeni Sambol buns is a favourite in Srr Langka and these are specially nice to have with tea. I love to have it with Ipoh White Coffee. It’s heaven. Seeni in Tamil means sugar. The filling is a simply sweet, tangy and spicy onion filling. The filling is unique and tastes so delicious. I adapted the recipe from Suhaina .  I would like to have the original Sri Langkan Seeni Sambol Buns if I visit there in future. Bread dough: ( makes 15 mini rolls) Plain flour -2 1/2 cups 300 grams Sugar -2 tbsp. Salt -3/4 tsp Yeast- 3/4 tsp ,4 grams Milk powder-10 grams Water roux - cook 1 tbsp. flour with 125ml water to form a custard. Cool completely and use it. Water- 100ml Butter -30 grams Oil -2 tbsp. Fresh milk- 3 tbsp (to brush on the buns before baking)   Method to make the buns: 1.      Mix everything except butter. 2.      When the dough comes together add butter and knead well. 3.      Apply oil and keep aside until it double in si

GOBI 65

I make Gobi 65 today  lunch for my family. This recipe I adapted from  Pavithra   . Our lunch become more cherish with Gobi 65. Ingredients : Cauliflower - 1 medium Thick yogurt - 1 cup Good quality red food color - less then 1/4 tsp Garam masala - 2 tsp Red chili powder - 3 tsp Garlic - 7 pods Ginger - 1 inch piece (Make a paste out of garlic and ginger.) Corn flour – ( 3 to 4 tbsp. approximately for each batch of florets.) Salt - 3 tsp  Curry leaves - for garnishing Chaat masala – I didn’t add  Oil for deep frying Method :- 1.      Cut and clean the cauliflower, drain without any water. Add the curd in the bowl. 2.      Add ginger garlic paste, colour and garam masala. 3.      Followed by chilli powder, Salt and lime juice. 4.      Whisk the batter, add the florets, mix well. 5.      Check for salt, sourness and spice level in this stage. 6.      While this ready.  Parallely heat oil in the deep pan.

CHRISTMAS 2012

When wake up today morning i felt cool air around me. A very beautiful morning. I felt fresh in the morning. Last year my family and I celebrated Christmas with joy with all members of my family and my husband. Here I have uploaded some wonderful memories on Christmas day last year. My children's was most happy on that day. This year we celebrate in moderation only. My children's can not wait to receive their gifts from us for Christmas this year. White Sugar Vs. Brown Sugar

In fall we use a lot of brown sugar when cooking and baking. So what are the differences between white sugar and brown sugar? Here goes the answer. White Sugar Vs. Brown Sugar The Differences Color White sugar is, of course, white and it contains white sugar crystals. And brown sugar contains white sugar crystals as well, but it also contains molasses which gives the brown color the dark color. There is more molasses in packed dark brown sugar (6.5%) than in light granulated brown sugar (3.5%). Sweetness White sugar is slightly less sweet than brown sugar. So, white sugar is slightly higher in calories by 3%. Texture White sugar is dry and grainy and brown sugar is moist and clumpy. When Baked, White sugar makes end result crispier, thinner, and lighter in color. In contrary when brown sugar is used, the end result is moist, denser, darker in color, deeper and spicier in flavor. CARROT HALWA

I really loved the original Indian sweets. Among the desserts that are favoured by me is Laddhu and Janggiri. Halwa is one of the dessert favorite of my husband. When I saw the recipe of Carrot Halwa, my heart started looking forward to trying it. Normally I like all dishes  based by carrots. So, I was looking for the right time to try this recipe. I adapted this recipe from  Vidya  Kitchen. This recipes look easy, but we need to always stirring the pot. If not, halwa will burnt later. I was lucky, because this recipe is quite successful for me. It was very tasty. It tastes very sweet, we can only eat a little for one time. But my daughter loves to eat this Halwa. Maybe it’s sweet and soft. I feel very comforted to see my daughter love this dessert. Pumpkin Pie stuffed with grated coconut

Ingredients :- 250 g               pumpkin 1 cup              flour 70 g of             sugar 1 tbsp.            tapioca flour 100 ml              coconut milk 60 ml                pumpkin broth salt to taste enough water to boil the pumpkin grated coconut mixed with a pinch of salt (filling) Method: - 1) Pumpkin peeled and diced. 2) Add diced pumpkin into the water to heat. Add a pinch of salt into it. Cook     pumpkin until soft. Remove the pumpkin from the broth. 3) Add diced cooked pumpkin and pumpkin broth into a blender and blend until      pureed pumpkin. 4) Mix the pumpkin puree, flour, tapioca flour, sugar in a bowl. Mix coconut until the      mixture becomes like a cake batter. 5) Pour half of the batter into a container the size of 7 x 3 inches. 6) Sprinkle grated coconut mixed with salt proceedings of the batter that is poured     earlier. 7) Now pour the remaining batter over the grated coconut.
